It's about time!

It's about time I posted something here!  It's been too long, but I've had a lot of things going on since my last post at the back end of May.

The important stuff ... my two sons both have PKD (Polycystic Kidney Disease).  Colin started dialysis in early May which is why we delayed heading north and extended our stay in Petaluma. Around the same time, Simon, who started dialysis a couple of years ago, had a successful transplant.  Yay!  After his surgery Jane visited him in Houston while I stayed in Petaluma to continue to visit with Colin and take care of the dogs.

My grandson graduated high school.  We watched via internet live feed.  Go Andrew!

We finally made it to the PNW and our campsite in Sequim, where we put down roots for a couple of months.

We celebrated our wedding anniversary with friends Phil, Cathy, Lorraine and Steve, with whom we also played a lot of Mexican Train Dominoes, drank a lot of wine, and ate a lot of delicious munchies.

We enjoyed the support and friendship of our Sequim / Port Angeles SGI community, with special thanks to Giovanni, Dewey, Steve, Nancy, Michaele and Tom.

Giovanni showed us how to cook authentic Sicilian pasta, and delighted us with rendition of his piano concerto.  We cooked English Shepherd's Pie for him and again at a potluck with his neighbors.

Joanie spent a lot of time at Sequim's fabulous dog park.  We made lots of new friends, both four and two legged.

Jane suffered a painful back - maybe too much time sleeping on the Chinook's dinette versus in a comfy bed at home???

Seriously contemplated renting a house so that we could move to Sequim.  Maybe next year???

Eventually we cut short our time in Sequim, and returned yesterday to Petaluma where we will celebrate Jane's birthday with Colin and Tiffany before heading home.

I'm too lazy to re-post a bunch of photos here, but they are all on my Instagram feed.   Enjoy.
