Pondering pastures new

As we wander around the country and discover an attractive area it's always interesting to ponder putting down roots.  Especially when you see a listing like this one on "Enchantment Way":

"Adorable cottage in the woods! This one owner home is a rare find. One owner located less than a mile from John Wayne Marina. Very close to town, but yet on a private, dead end lane nestled within 2.5 acres of trees, nice southern exposure and so much more."

Yep, that sounds like just the ticket.  Let's see how many boxes it checks:

Adorable, check.
Close to a marina, check.
Close to town, check.
Private/secluded, check.
Acreage, check.
Favorable exposure, check.
Affordable, check.

Not only pushes all the right buttons, but wow check out that sweet address: "Enchantment Way".

So we plug "Enchantment Way" into the GPS and off we go:

The road looks a little narrow, and I'm not sure how easy it might be to turn around the Chinook, so we park it and decide to walk the 1/2 mile or so to the property.

It gets a little narrower, with grass growing in the middle of the road, but we see the "For Sale" sign so we know we're heading in the right direction:

The road goes on, the vegetation gets denser:

We spy a fork in the road:

And spot another "For Sale" sign:

It gets narrower still.

Yep, we're in the right place:

It's peeking at us from around the bend:

Are we feeling the "enchantment" yet?

There it is:

Yep, this is it.

Let's check out the front:

And the back:

Hardwood floors, another box checked!

Seems like they have Direct TV too!

And a little bridge to nowhere.  How enchanting!

We check out the side:

And finally discover the property has a circular drive.  How cool, how utterly enchanting!  We could have driven the Chinook here after all!

Enchanting?  Maybe.  Work to make it sublime?  Monumental!  Hmm, perhaps we should look at a few other properties.

  1. Looks pretty small, where will pagan, penny and I be sleeping?

  2. Excellent location and love the name of the street! Janet and I would visit you and stay nearby or by then I would have our own camper :-)
