Another windy night

Another very windy night in the Anza-Borrego Desert.  Many gusts were up around 50 mph or so, strong enough to buffet the Chinook and keep us awake.
This morning we could see that the tent someone had erected alongside their trailer was flattened and flapping wildly.  Another camper's door mat had flown across the desert to land near us.
Although clear at Rockhouse Canyon, as we drove into Borrego Springs for lunch we ran through a sandstorm heavy enough to require headlights.
Lunch at Red Octillo in Borrego Springs surpassed expectations - the Reuben sandwich was delicious and the French fries were piping hot.

  1. I am surprised your wife stayed a second night! Glad that travel trailer near you was still standing, as that is what we have. I think I need to make a restaurant list...the Red Octillo in Borrego Springs will be the first to be added. Thanks!
