Out of thin air ...

For our route home we'd planned to traverse The Rockies, with next stops in Gunnison and Montrose, but 'out of thin air' (LOL) Jane's altitude sickness kicked in somewhere around 7,200' after passing through Salida.  It was time to think again!

Retracing our steps we journeyed south through Pueblo and on to Colorado City (only 5,853') where we spent the night at a very welcoming KOA.

On the way we passed through a fairly heavy storm - flooded freeway and hail, which we managed to dodge by stopping under a bridge

Thankfully our experience  was nothing compared to the vicious storm system that ravaged the area to our north - the exact area we had been just one week prior.
