On to Kingwood, TX

Longhorns at Fredericksburg KOA
After staying at a KOA campground in Fredericksburg Tuesday night we drove the 270 miles or so to Kingwood, stopping only once in Austin for an excellent lunch at Zagat rated Jack Allen's Kitchen.

Now that we are in Kingwood visiting our son, DIL, and grandkids we're putting down roots for a few weeks.
Hooked up to a 30 amp circuit at Simon & Jennifer's - constant rain and drizzle for the next few days!

  1. Fredericksburg is a great tourist town, with a lot of neat shops. There used to be a watchmaker there that had a full shop, but I think he was put out of business by changing times, and pressures from the high end watch companies.

Glad you made it safe and sound! Looking at the roof of Simon's house, is that a tree that is touching/leaning on the roof? Here in Southern California it is Santa Ana winds, dry heat, and paper calendars on the walls are starting to curl around the edges from a lack of humidity/the hot winds sucking the moisture out of the air.

  2. I hope it gets cut soon! Maybe one of the kids can do a slam dunk with the basketball hoop and "hop" onto the roof and do a quick trim at the same time :-)
