Brown Mountain

Today we spent several hours at Brown Mountain in the Arizona-Sonora Desert:

The drive back along Gates Pass Road was a scenic treat but as a heads-up be aware that it's a road limited to vehicles with a GVWR of no more than 12,000 lbs.  Our Chinook Premier tips the scales at 10,700 lbs so we were sufficiently svelte and very much enjoyed the twists, turns, and grades.

  1. Impressive desert scenes and I applaud you for your prowess on those roads, especially the wayward cactus that might puncture a tire! Looks to have been recent rain or moisture for the ocotillo has very bright, green "leaves" which means a recent shower. The pipe organs of the desert, saguaro!
